This physically damages the polythene
and the excessive heat makes the uv stabilisers oxidise and reduces their
effective life. In reality, by putting Barrier Polythene Tape (Anti Hot
Spot Tape) on to your tunnel you will extend the life of your polytunnel
covers by at least one season, and that is why polythene manufacturers
take it into account when designing the film life and specifying it in
